Inland carpet pythons
have an extensive range throughout the inland areas of Queensland, New
South Wales, and South Australia. Despite this large range, their
appearance is fairly uniform throughout! The area where inlands
live experiences some of the most drastic and harsh weather, from very
hot in the summer to very cold in the winter. These snakes are by
nature very calm and rarely show defensive/aggressive behavior, making
them one of the easiest going of the carpets. Even wild specimens
can be approached without much fear of defensive behavior. Their
bold patterns are also very attractive and sometimes contain some
reddish orange coloration throughout. The inlands also have an
overall blueish tint to them, which has to be seen in person to really
be appreciated. These snakes will no doubt be a very popular
carpet python in herpetoculture once they become established in the
United States. GET ADDICTED!
